CFA: In July, the national futures trading market's trading volume decreased by 5.31% year-on-year, while the trading value increased by 20.99%.
The China Futures Industry Association released the trading situation of the national futures market for July 2026.
The latest statistics from the China Futures Association indicate that, based on unilateral calculations, the national futures trading market's transaction volume in July was 1,002,458,127 contracts, with a transaction value of 86,283.409 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year decrease of 5.31% and an increase of 20.99%, respectively. From January to July, the cumulative transaction volume in the national futures market reached 6,107,329,309 contracts, with a cumulative transaction value of 56,898.4731 billion yuan, marking year-on-year growth of 18.93% and 38.43%, respectively.
The Shanghai Futures Exchange recorded a transaction volume of 208,745,073 contracts in July, with a transaction value of 238,699.03 billion yuan, accounting for 20.82% and 27.66% of the national market, respectively, showing a year-on-year decline of 8.9% and an increase of 21.94%. By the end of July, the total open interest at the Shanghai Futures Exchange was 11,785,064 contracts, an increase of 4.5% from the end of the previous month. From January to July, the cumulative transaction volume at the Shanghai Futures Exchange was 1,506,648,616 contracts, with a cumulative transaction value of 2,135.80417 trillion yuan, reflecting year-on-year growth of 13.27% and 58.26%, respectively, accounting for 24.67% and 37.54% of the national market.
The Shanghai International Energy Exchange had a transaction volume of 15,716,645 contracts in July, with a transaction value of 28,756.46 billion yuan, representing 1.57% and 3.33% of the national market, respectively, with year-on-year growth of 7.59% and 3.56%. By the end of July, the total open interest at the Shanghai International Energy Exchange was 460,739 contracts, a decrease of 0.43% from the previous month. From January to July, the cumulative transaction volume at the Shanghai International Energy Exchange reached 85,530,049 contracts, with a cumulative transaction value of 170,845.93 billion yuan, showing year-on-year declines of 16.68% and 14.24%, accounting for 1.40% and 3% of the national market, respectively.
The Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange had a transaction volume of 359,759,612 contracts in July, with a transaction value of 100,403.05 billion yuan, constituting 35.89% and 11.64% of the national market, respectively, with year-on-year decreases of 10.28% and 2.76%. The total open interest at the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange by the end of July was 22,697,816 contracts, reflecting an increase of 18.06% from the end of the previous month. From January to July, the cumulative transaction volume at the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange was 2,077,089,784 contracts, with a cumulative transaction value of 607,104.67 billion yuan, resulting in year-on-year growth of 16.34% and 16.16%, accounting for 34.01% and 10.67% of the national market, respectively.
The Dalian Commodity Exchange reported a transaction volume of 344,745,714 contracts in July, with a transaction value of 128,501.98 billion yuan, representing 34.39% and 14.89% of the national market, with year-on-year growth of 25.97% and 12.15%. The total open interest at the Dalian Commodity Exchange at the end of July was 22,864,787 contracts, up by 2% from the previous month. From January to July, the cumulative transaction volume at the Dalian Commodity Exchange was 2,020,111,554 contracts, with a cumulative transaction value of 795,247.19 billion yuan, showing year-on-year increases of 34.02% and 36.3%, accounting for 33.08% and 13.98% of the national market, respectively.
The China Financial Futures Exchange had a transaction volume of 40,373,903 contracts in July, with a transaction value of 350,118.70 billion yuan, representing 4.03% and 40.58% of the national market, with year-on-year growth of 60.47% and 69.61%. The total open interest at the China Financial Futures Exchange by the end of July was 3,055,308 contracts, an increase of 15.47% from the previous month. From January to July, the cumulative transaction volume at the China Financial Futures Exchange reached 204,657,789 contracts, with a cumulative transaction value of 1,844,560.99 billion yuan, reflecting year-on-year growth of 27.1% and 38.48%, accounting for 3.35% and 32.42% of the national market, respectively.
The Guangzhou Futures Exchange recorded a transaction volume of 33,117,180 contracts in July, with a transaction value of 16,354.87 billion yuan, which accounted for 3.3% and 1.9% of the national market, respectively, with year-on-year declines of 71.24% and 74.98%. The total open interest at the Guangzhou Futures Exchange by the end of July was 2,087,311 contracts, an increase of 8.04% from the previous month. From January to July, the cumulative transaction volume at the Guangzhou Futures Exchange was 213,291,517 contracts, with a cumulative transaction value of 136,284.36 billion yuan, showing year-on-year decreases of 14.23% and an increase of 10.3%, accounting for 3.49% and 2.4% of the national market, respectively.
