Watson Biotech (300142.SZ) announced that its subsidiary Yuxi Zerun Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Yuxi Zerun") has obtained the drug registration certificate issued by the Tanzania Medicines and Medical Devices Authority for the production of the bivalent human papillomavirus vaccine (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) (brand name "WALRINVAX", referred to as "bivalent HPV vaccine"). The vial packaging specifications of the bivalent HPV vaccine have been granted market approval in Tanzania.

(referred to as "Yuxi Zerun") has received the Drug Registration Certificate issued by the Tanzania Medicines and Medical Devices Authority for the production of the bivalent human papillomavirus vaccine (recombinant HPV yeast) (commercial name "WALRINVAX", referred to as "bivalent HPV vaccine"). The bivalent HPV vaccine in vials has been granted market approval in Tanzania.
The Yuxi Zerun bivalent HPV vaccine is mainly used to prevent diseases caused by high-risk HPV types 16 and 18, such as cervical cancer, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 and 3 (CIN2/3), and adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS). The vaccine was officially launched in 2022 and received prequalification from the World Health Organization (WHO PQ) in August 2024.
