Under the leadership of the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Hong Kong government is currently formulating a five-year plan for Hong Kong. On April 27th, Professor Sun Dong, Director of the Innovation and Technology Bureau of Hong Kong, stated at the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce's Summit Forum on "The '15th Five-Year Plan' and New Opportunities for Hong Kong" that under the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, new productive forces will be the key elements driving modernization and achieving high-quality development. The national "15th Five-Year Plan" proposes to build a modern industrial system, accelerate high-level self-reliance in science and technology, promote the construction of a digital China, etc. It also clearly supports Hong Kong in building an international innovation and technology center, accelerating the construction of the Northern Metropolis, and supporting Hong Kong in creating an international high-end talent gathering place, which will bring more major opportunities to Hong Kong. As an important force in the country's science and technology, Hong Kong should actively align itself with the country's major development strategies.
