Ministry of Commerce spokesperson answers questions from reporters about the EU's "Industrial Accelerator Act". On April 24th, the Ministry of Commerce officially submitted comments to the European Commission on the EU's "Industrial Accelerator Act", expressing China's formal position and serious concerns. China believes that the Act imposes many restrictive requirements on foreign investment in emerging strategic industries such as batteries, electric vehicles, photovoltaics, and key raw materials. It also includes "EU origin" exclusivity clauses in public procurement and public support policies, forming serious investment barriers and institutional discrimination. China will closely monitor the relevant legislative process and is willing to engage in dialogue with the EU on this issue. If the EU ignores China's suggestions, insists on pushing through the Act, and thereby harms the interests of Chinese enterprises, China will have to take countermeasures to firmly defend the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
