State Post Bureau: The total revenue of the express delivery business in January-March reached 369.02 billion yuan, an increase of 6.8% year-on-year.

On April 22, the State Post Bureau released the operating situation of the postal industry in the first quarter of 2026. From January to March, the total business revenue of the postal industry (excluding the direct business revenue of postal savings banks) reached 449.27 billion yuan, an increase of 5.9% year-on-year. Among them, the total revenue of express delivery business reached 369.02 billion yuan, an increase of 6.8% year-on-year. From January to March, the total volume of postal industry delivery services reached 51.90 billion pieces, an increase of 4.5% year-on-year. Among them, the total volume of express delivery services reached 47.73 billion pieces, an increase of 5.8% year-on-year. In March, the total business revenue of the postal industry reached 157.29 billion yuan, an increase of 3.1% year-on-year. Among them, the total revenue of express delivery services reached 130.47 billion yuan, an increase of 4.7% year-on-year. In March, the total volume of postal industry delivery services reached 18.76 billion pieces, an increase of 2.7% year-on-year. Among them, the total volume of express delivery services reached 17.24 billion pieces, an increase of 3.5% year-on-year. In terms of business types, from January to March, the total volume of express delivery services in the same city reached 3.35 billion pieces, a decrease of 7.3% year-on-year; the total volume of express delivery services to different cities reached 43.34 billion pieces, an increase of 7.0% year-on-year; the total volume of international/Hong Kong-Macau-Taiwan express delivery services reached 1.04 billion pieces, an increase of 1.7% year-on-year. From January to March, the total volume of postal letter services reached 190 million pieces, a decrease of 6.6% year-on-year; the total volume of parcel services reached 7.69 million pieces, an increase of 12.8% year-on-year; the total volume of newspaper services reached 3.82 billion copies, a decrease of 7.8% year-on-year; the total volume of magazine services reached 150 million copies, a decrease of 6.9% year-on-year; and the total number of exchange services reached 375 thousand transactions, a decrease of 29.6% year-on-year. From January to March, the proportion of local, intercity, and international/Hong Kong-Macau-Taiwan express delivery services accounted for 7.0%, 90.8%, and 2.2% of all express delivery services, respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of local express delivery services decreased by 1.0 percentage points, intercity express delivery services increased by 1.1 percentage points, and international/Hong Kong-Macau-Taiwan services decreased by 0.1 percentage points. From January to March, the proportion of express delivery business income in Eastern, Central, and Western regions was 72.7%, 16.2%, and 11.1% respectively, and the proportion of express delivery volume was 68.0%, 21.2%, and 10.8% respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of express delivery business income in the Eastern region decreased by 1.0 percentage points, and the proportion of express delivery volume decreased by 3.3 percentage points; the proportion of express delivery business income in the Central region increased by 0.6 percentage points and the proportion of express delivery volume increased by 1.7 percentage points; the proportion of express delivery business income in the Western region increased by 0.4 percentage points and the proportion of express delivery volume increased by 1.6 percentage points. From January to March, the concentration index CR8 of express delivery business income was 87.4, and the concentration index CR8 of express delivery volume was 96.0, both increasing by 0.1 compared to January-February. From January to March, the public satisfaction of express delivery services was 84.8 points, and the on-time delivery rate of express delivery services in key regions nationwide within 72 hours was 82.28%.
