China Tourism Group Duty Free Corporation (01880) rose more than 7%, up 6.71% as of the time of publication, reaching 100.2 Hong Kong dollars, with a turnover of 2.93 billion Hong Kong dollars. On the news front, the Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Administration of Taxation recently jointly issued a notice on the "zero tariff" policy for imported goods for residents of Hainan Free Trade Port Island, which will be implemented from the date of announcement. The notice stipulates that imported goods purchased by residents of Hainan Free Trade Port Island in designated business places are exempt from import duties, import VAT, and consumption tax within the duty-free quota and the range of goods on the list. In addition, on February 5, Haikou Customs released statistics showing that in January 2026, the amount of duty-free shopping on Hainan's outlying islands was 45.3 billion yuan, with 560,000 shopping visits, and 3.367 million items purchased, with year-on-year growth of 44.8%, 21.0%, and 14.0% respectively. Wanlian Securities pointed out that as the supply chain for fast-moving consumer goods to high-end luxury goods in Hainan is established and improved, coupled with the expectation that the duty-free policy for island residents will be further relaxed in terms of shopping quotas and product categories, Hainan's attractiveness for domestic and foreign tourists and the attractiveness for talent in related industries will significantly increase. Hainan's outlying island duty-free retailers will continue to benefit from this. Guosheng believes that the prosperity trend of the duty-free industry in Hainan's outlying islands is expected to remain strong during the peak season of the Spring Festival.
