Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN.US) is preparing to lay off thousands of corporate employees and increase efforts to streamline its organization. According to sources, the company plans to start layoffs as early as next week. This layoff comes just a few months after the company announced the elimination of 14,000 positions. At that time, Amazon.com, Inc. stated that with "more places where we can streamline layers," there could be more layoffs by 2026. Sources said that management could have chosen to lay off employees in October or wait until the new year. This layoff will be conducted in two rounds around the busy holiday season at Amazon.com, Inc., similar to the layoff plan implemented by the company in late 2022 and early 2023, when about 27,000 people were laid off. As of September 30, 2025, the company had approximately 1.57 million employees, with most of them working in warehouses. This layoff will impact corporate employees, approximately 350,000 people.
