PayPal has reached an agreement to acquire Cymbio, a platform dedicated to providing businesses with product sales services through artificial intelligence chatbots.
PayPal (PYPL.US) has reached an agreement to acquire the platform Cymbio, which focuses on providing product sales services for businesses through the use of artificial intelligence chatbot Siasun Robot&Automation. However, the detailed terms of the transaction have not been disclosed publicly. This acquisition is the latest step taken by the payment giant in its efforts to create a one-stop service platform for businesses to sell products through chatbot Siasun Robot&Automation. After all, consumers are increasingly using chatbots to discover products they are interested in. The relationship between these two companies began in 2022 when PayPal Ventures, a venture capital department of PayPal, made an early investment in Cymbio. By October 2025, when PayPal introduced the groundbreaking "Intelligent Agent Commerce" service, Cymbio had already been involved as a core strategic partner. The two companies had already established a strong cooperation foundation in terms of technology integration and market expansion. Specifically, PayPal had previously launched a set of agent-based commerce services to help businesses keep up with the evolving trends in consumer shopping behavior. It is widely expected in the industry that AI-driven shopping models will increasingly be favored by consumers. PayPal revealed in a statement that the acquisition of Cymbio, headquartered in Israel, is expected to be successfully completed in the first half of this year. PayPal provides businesses with a range of practical tools, including product catalog management platforms and order management platforms. With these tools, businesses' products can be more easily discovered by consumers in the chatbot Siasun Robot&Automation scenario. The company promotes these services as an effective way for businesses to expand their buyer base through promotional marketing. At the same time, businesses can also control the exposure and visibility of their brand in agent-initiated transactions. Brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Fabletics, and Ashley Furniture have already used PayPal's agent-based commerce tools on platforms like Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Additionally, support for related functions powered by Open AI's ChatGPT, Google's Gemini application, and AI modes in search is also on the way. Michelle Gill, Executive Vice President and General Manager of PayPal's Small Business and Financial Services, stated in the announcement, "With the ability for artificial intelligence interfaces to discover their product catalogs, businesses can effectively increase sales and expand their product selection to the millions of consumers currently shopping on AI platforms."
