Wang Qiuping, spokesperson of the State Administration for Market Regulation, introduced that the Administration has promptly held talks with major food delivery platforms. The platforms responded quickly, collectively voiced their commitment to strictly abide by laws and regulations, eliminate unfair competition, resist malicious subsidies, and promote the standardized and orderly development of the industry.
Today (September 9th), it was learned from the routine press conference held by the State Administration for Market Regulation that, in response to the recent controversy over subsidies on delivery platforms, the spokesperson for the State Administration for Market Regulation, Wang Qiuping, stated that the Administration has promptly summoned the major delivery platforms. The relevant platforms responded quickly, collectively voiced their commitment to strictly abide by laws and regulations, eliminate unfair competition, resist vicious subsidies, and promote the standardized and orderly development of the industry.
Next, the State Administration for Market Regulation will closely monitor the competition in the delivery industry, require the improvement of service quality, strictly observe the bottom line of food safety, and ensure consumer experience. It will urge platforms to control subsidies reasonably, avoid disrupting the normal price system, and encourage platforms to increase support for businesses, enhance rider rights protection, and build a benign ecosystem of win-win situation for consumers, businesses, riders, and platforms.
