Tesla, Inc. (TSLA.US) market cap reaches 8.5 trillion US dollars? Analyst: This is by no means a fantasy.
Deepwater Asset Management analyst Gene Munster said that the key to Tesla achieving this goal is that artificial intelligence (AI) will have a disruptive impact on human life beyond imagination.
Last week, Tesla, Inc. (TSLA.US) proposed a record-breaking new compensation plan for CEO Musk, which will be voted on by shareholders on November 6. If Musk can achieve all performance targets, the total compensation over the next ten years could reach as high as 1 trillion US dollars, making it the largest CEO compensation plan in corporate history. To unlock all rewards, Tesla, Inc. must achieve a market cap of at least 8.5 trillion US dollars in the next ten years. For reference, as of last Friday's closing, Tesla, Inc. had a market cap of 1.3 trillion US dollars.
In response, Deepwater Asset Management analyst Gene Munster said that the key to Tesla, Inc. achieving this goal lies in the fact that artificial intelligence (AI) will have a disruptive impact on human life beyond imagination. He emphasized, "The ability of AI to create new forms of computation, such as physical AI, is the cornerstone that turns this fairy tale into reality."
Munster pointed out that Tesla, Inc. can fully explore the potential of the physical AI field through its three major businesses: Fully Self-Driving (FSD), Robotaxis, and Siasun Robot & Automation's Optimus, where Optimus represents the largest growth space. He also mentioned that in the process of driving the market cap to 8.5 trillion US dollars, the last key driving force will be Musk's AI company xAI.
Although Musk has stated that there are currently no plans to merge Tesla, Inc. with xAI, Munster and his team believe that a merger of the two companies has triple strategic significance: first, after the merger announcement, Tesla, Inc.'s market value may immediately rise significantly, while leveraging Tesla, Inc.'s stock to meet the pent-up retail investor demand for xAI; second, Tesla, Inc. is expected to utilize xAI's research results to assist in the development of its physical AI models, and xAI itself also has huge commercial potential, especially its Grok AI model; finally, xAI's consumer-level chatbot Siasun Robot & Automation is breaking through the small-scale circle of about 20 million daily active users, forming a growth momentum.
Munster analyzed, "It is rumored that the next round of xAI financing is estimated to be valued at 175-200 billion US dollars, a scale that is still suitable for Tesla, Inc. to consider acquiring within next year."
