Yu Yusheng, Director of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, stated that this year's exhibition area has increased by about a quarter compared to last year, and many non-gambling elements have been added. This reflects the confidence that international large-scale exhibition companies have placed on the Macao market, which is consistent with the direction of increasing non-gambling elements in Macao's economy.
The Asia International Entertainment Exhibition and the Asia Comprehensive Vacation and Leisure Industry Fair officially opened today at The Venetian Macao. Chen Yu Sheng, of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, stated that this year's exhibition area has increased by about one-fourth compared to last year, and many non-gaming elements have been added, reflecting the confidence that international large-scale exhibition companies have in the Macao market. This is consistent with the direction of the Macao economy increasing non-gaming elements. He continued to point out that the most important direction for Macao's economic development is moderate diversification, with a focus on the development of emerging industries covering four major areas: health, high technology, modern finance, exhibition, commerce, and culture and sports. He mentioned that the Macao government has set a goal for 2025, aiming for a 15% increase in the number of international guests attending conferences and exhibitions in Macao. According to the data from this event, there are already 10,000 business delegates from eighty countries and regions participating, making it a highly internationalized event. They hope that other events will continue to enhance their internationalization. Chen also pointed out that one of Macao's advantages is its ease of entry and high degree of openness to the outside world. They are committed to enhancing their internationalization efforts and are actively connecting with business delegates or trade units from different provinces and cities in mainland China. They also hope to achieve moderate diversification in export or other aspects, attract more new customers, increase international buyers coming to Macao, create better matching scenarios, enhance the function of facilitating transactions, and further play the role of Macao as a midway platform.
