"The King of New Materials" Raises Prices by 3,000 Yuan/Ton as Emerging Application Areas for Carbon Fiber Rise
On November 4, the Carbon Fiber Sales Center of Jilin Chemical Fiber issued a price adjustment letter stating that due to persistently high prices of upstream raw materials for carbon fiber, it has decided to adjust the prices of its carbon fiber productsraising them by 3,000 yuan per ton, with the price adjustment effective on the same day. This round of price adjustment is another price increase by Jilin Chemical Fiber in 2026, following those at the beginning of the year and in March. Rising upstream raw material acrylonitrile has kept cost pressure transmitting downstream, pushing China's domestic carbon fiber industry into a continuous price-raising cycle. The rapid rise of emerging sectors such as commercial aerospace, the low-altitude economy, and humanoid robots has brought new incremental demand for carbon fiber. In the A-share market, listed carbon fiber companies mainly include more than ten stocks such as Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical, Jilin Chemical Fiber, Jilin Carbon Valley, Zhongfu Shenying, Sinofibers Technology, and Jinggong Technology. In terms of share price performance, carbon fiber-related stocks have generally fallen during the year, with Sinofibers Technology down more than 50%, Jinggong Technology and Guangwei Composites down more than 40%, and Kingfa Sci. & Tech., Chujiang New Materials, and Guangda Tongchuang down more than 20%.
