Fund Manager: Behind the "October Heavy Blow" to Gold and Silver Lies a Buying Opportunity
Following last Friday's market sell-off, gold and silver saw a modest rebound after previously suffering their worst October performance since 2008. With global central banks striving to control inflation, precious metals have remained depressed, leaving investors frustrated as they grapple with rising opportunity costs. But according to one fund manager, last week's sell-offand any further pullbackcould represent a once-in-a-lifetime buying opportunity. Jen Bawden, founder and CEO of Bawden Capital, said in her latest market commentary: "Silver prices are down about 60% from their historic high of $121.64, and gold has also fallen to its lowest level in a year." "Mainstream financial media are hyping the precious metals crash, and retail investors who bought at the top are panic-selling. To those not in the know, it looks like a massacre. But for long-term investors familiar with commodities, capital flows, and cross-asset margin shocks, this is not a crisisit's a classic liquidity vacuum," she added.
