China's first set of intelligent welding equipment for ultra-deep vertical shafts put into use, with efficiency increased by over 65%.
On November 3, China's first complete set of intelligent welding equipment specifically for pressure steel pipes in ultra-deep vertical shafts was put into use at the Songyang Pumped Storage Power Station in Zhejiang. It was independently developed for the extreme working conditions of narrow deep shafts in deep earth engineering, filling the gap in automated welding of high-strength steel pipes for ultra-deep vertical shafts. The equipment is equipped with an outer circumferential seam welding robot and an inner circumferential seam automatic horizontal welding machine. The welding speed can reach 30 to 50 centimeters per minute, and the efficiency is more than 65% higher than that of traditional manual welding, with a one-time weld pass rate of 99%. The equipment operates at the Songyang Power Station, where the water diversion vertical shaft has a total depth of 637 meters, and has established a welding method for pressure steel pipes in ultra-deep vertical shafts.
