Several domestic automakers "head to Beijing" to negotiate with relevant departments on "hybrid vehicle export quotas"
Journalists learned from multiple informed sources that, in response to the recent understanding reached between China and the EU on hybrid vehicle trade, several domestic automakers have recently traveled to Beijing to consult with relevant authorities. "The total volume is limited, and each company can be allocated only a modest export quota; currently everyone is working hard to secure their share," one informed source said. On October 8-9, the second regular meeting of the China-EU trade and investment consultation mechanism was held in Beijing. After intensive consultations, China and the EU reached an understanding on hybrid vehicle trade in a manner consistent with WTO rules. On October 12, the Ministry of Commerce stated that regarding hybrid vehicles, the two sides reached an upward arrangement on the basis of 2025, ensuring Chinese companies' export space and stable growth and accommodating the reasonable, reality-based concerns of industries on both sides.
