People's Sharp Commentary: If a doctor and AI give different advice, whose should you follow?
"Doctor, why is what you're saying different from what AI says?" "Doctor, AI says my condition can be treated this waycould you take a look and see if that's right?" With the spread of artificial intelligence technology, more and more patients are walking into consultation rooms with AI "diagnoses." AI consultations and doctors seeing patients were never the same thing to begin with. AI can only help "look up diseases" based on patients' descriptions; it cannot replace a doctor's face-to-face "seeing the patient." Curing disease and recovering health depend on trust and communication between doctor and patient, not on repeatedly using AI to question the doctor. Patients giving doctors a little more trust, doctors and patients communicating a little more, and doctors and patients working hand in handthat is the most reliable support when facing illness.
