Midland Realty: Hong Kong property market sees "both volume and value rise" in the year to hit a 5-year high for the same period, with residential property as the main driver.
Midland Realty analyst Cen Songqian pointed out that, according to data from the Midland Realty Research Center compiled from the Land Registry, overall property registrations in 2026 totaled 74,368 cases, about 15.2% higher than the 64,582 cases in the first 10 months of last year; the amount involved reached HK$607.8 billion, also about 23.8% higher than the HK$490.8 billion in the first 10 months of last year. Both the number of cases and the amount hit a five-year high for the same period since 2021. The simultaneous rise in both "volume and value" of overall property this year reflects an improving property market performance.
