Analyst: AI monetization won't happen overnight; 2027 will be an important inflection point.
Despite heightened market volatility on Friday, Ives maintained his bullish view on AI. The tech analyst believes 2027 will be a key inflection point, when AI commercialization and monetization are expected to support the industry's heavy capital expenditures. He said AI monetization will not happen overnight, and noted that strong cloud business data and capital expenditures are the core of the investment thesis. Dan Ives, partner and senior managing director at Yorkville Ives, said on Friday that the disruptive effects of artificial intelligence are becoming increasingly prominent during tech earnings season. In a post on X, he said: "The AI disruption is in full display this tech earnings season, and it's hard for the market to determine which companies and sectors will be the disruptors and which will be disrupted. As we have consistently said, the AI transformation will not be a straight line up, but there will still be winners, and our core bullish thesis remains unchanged."
