Samsung executive meets with OpenAI CEO to discuss AI transformation
Samsung said that multiple executives from its major subsidiaries met with OpenAI co-founder and CEO Sam Altman on Saturday to discuss future strategies for AI transformation. A Samsung official said the exchange took place at a Samsung human resources center in Yongin, south of Seoul. It was part of a series of leadership seminars Samsung is holding to drive the company's AI transformation. The meeting focused on exchanging views on the future direction of AI technology, potential application scenarios, and the business opportunities presented by related fields. According to Samsung, the two sides specifically discussed how AI will reshape corporate decision-making and operating models, and what core capabilities business leaders need in a rapidly changing business environment. Altman emphasized that whether a company can gain a competitive advantage does not depend on whether it has adopted AI technology, but on how it uses the technology to operate more efficiently and create better products, thereby standing out in competition. About 50 executives from Samsung's technology, finance, and biotech business units attended the seminar.
