Yaojiaping Water Conservancy Hub Project Successfully Diverted, Enters Main Construction Phase
At 10:38 this morning, the Yaojiaping Water Conservancy Hub Project in Enshi, Hubei, successfully completed river closure, officially transitioning the project into the large-scale main construction phase. It is understood that the Yaojiaping Water Conservancy Hub dam has a height of 175 meters, making it the tallest roller-compacted concrete double-curvature arch dam currently under construction in the world. The project is located in a canyon area with complex terrain and geology, imposing stringent standards and high technical difficulty on construction processes such as foundation treatment, dam temperature control, and ecological soil and water conservation. The Yaojiaping Water Conservancy Hub is one of the 150 major water conservancy projects in the country, with a designed total reservoir capacity of 322 million cubic meters, and combines multiple functions including flood control, power generation, ecological conservation, and water resource allocation. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2031.
