A waddling robot that quacks like a duck can stand up on its own after falling. This robot, which replicates a duck's appearance and gait, is called Microduck and was developed by the French company Pollen Robotics. After Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang personally demonstrated the robot, it drew global attention, and market focus shifted to Robotis, the South Korean robotics company that supplies its core servos. Robotis said on the 26th at its headquarters in Gangseo District, Seoul, that it has signed a contract to supply about 750,000 servos for Pollen Robotics' duck robot Microduck. Pollen Robotics currently has order demand for 50,000 Microduck units, with each robot equipped with 15 Robotis servos, putting the order size at about 3.5 billion won. Pollen Robotics co-founder and CEO Matthieu Lapeyre said that about 15,000 additional orders were placed within three days after Huang's demonstration, and he expects servo demand to reach at least 1 million units next year.
