Health and epidemic prevention work has been fully launched in the earthquake-affected area of Baqing County, Tibet.
On October 25, the reporter learned from the Earthquake Relief Headquarters of Nagqu City, Tibet, that in order to prevent post-earthquake secondary public health risks, the disease control emergency team in the earthquake-affected area of Baqing County has comprehensively carried out various epidemic prevention tasks, including infectious disease surveillance, environmental disinfection, and drinking water safety testing, building an all-round public health safety defense line in the earthquake-affected area. To eliminate the occurrence and spread of post-disaster infectious diseases, the disease control emergency team monitored the physical condition of more than 3,600 people at 35 resettlement sites, with emphasis on strengthening the screening of symptoms of common post-disaster infectious diseases such as respiratory and digestive tract infections. At the same time, 44 team members were dispatched to carry out routine environmental disinfection work, especially cleaning and disinfection of key areas prone to bacterial growth and contamination, such as public areas, toilets, and garbage collection points. In addition, disease control staff strictly implemented the drinking water sampling and submission system, regularly collected domestic drinking water samples at each resettlement site, standardized information registration and sample submission, and sent them uniformly to the Nagqu City Center for Disease Control and Prevention for professional testing, monitoring water quality safety indicators in real time.
