Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics makes progress in research on low-threshold violet-blue perovskite lasers
According to the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, recently, the National Key Laboratory of Ultra-Intense Laser Science and Technology at the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, together with research teams from the Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and ShanghaiTech University, achieved a breakthrough in wide-bandgap halide perovskite gain media and high-performance violet-blue lasers. The study proposed a novel preparation route driven by dynamic molecular conformational isomerism for halide ion exchange, overcoming the long-standing pain points that have constrained violet-blue perovskite lasers, including uneven crystallization, high defects, phase separation, high threshold, and poor stability, and achieved the currently internationally best 423 nm violet-blue halide perovskite laser performance output.
