On social platforms, multiple bloggers had previously posted that the "national subsidy for home appliances is about to end." Combined with rhetoric like "last chance" and "the quota is gone," many people who were planning to replace their home appliances during "Double 11" suddenly did not know whether they should wait. In fact, this year's trade-in subsidy policy for home appliances is still being implemented. The National Development and Reform Commission announced on September 30 that the fourth batch of 62.5 billion yuan in consumer goods trade-in funds for this year has been allocated. Home appliance dealers and internet bloggers are very likely exploiting consumers' anxiety, implying that "if you wait until Double 11 to place an order, you will miss the national subsidy," thereby urging consumers to place orders in advance. In reality, the distribution of national subsidies follows a rhythm and plan and is not as urgent as internet bloggers claim. The General Offices of five departments, including the Ministry of Commerce, clearly require in the "Notice on Doing a Good Job in the Subsidy Work for Home Appliance Trade-ins and Purchases of Digital and Smart Products in 2026": all localities should scientifically formulate plans for the use and disbursement of subsidy funds, use them in a balanced manner on a monthly basis, and ensure smooth connections between each week within a month and across months and quarters. Reporters called the competent commerce departments in Anhui, Chongqing, Jiangxi, and other places, and they all said that the national subsidy quota is sufficient and that there is no situation in which it has already been used up.
