A-share cross-sector M&A heats up, tech sector becomes key focus for expansion
According to statistics compiled by Securities Times reporters, over the past month or so, about 10 listed companies whose traditional main businesses are in other sectorsincluding New Asia Electronics, Huazhijie, Guanxiang Technology, Yuanlin Co., and Andelihave announced cross-sector M&A plans targeting popular technology tracks such as semiconductors, PCBs, and robotics. However, there have also been failed cases, such as Dongbai Group, which announced the termination of its planned acquisition of optoelectronic assets just three days after the announcement. In this regard, angel investor and senior artificial intelligence expert Guo Tao analyzed to Securities Times reporters that against the backdrop of continued release of policy dividends, the pace of A-share companies' cross-sector acquisitions of technology targets has significantly accelerated, but the deep barriers to cross-industry integration have not been eliminated, and past cases have generally faced the practical problems of difficult integration and weak fulfillment.
