At 22:33 on the 22nd, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Baqing County in Nagqu City, Tibet. After the earthquake, the Tibet Military Command immediately activated its earthquake disaster relief contingency plan and directed the Nagqu Military Sub-command to dispatch 98 officers and soldiers and 6 vehicles, carrying rescue equipment and supplies, to rush to the disaster area overnight.
