UK premium sportswear brand Castore in talks with Anta and Li Ning over potential sale
According to reports, Tom Beahon, co-founder of British premium sportswear manufacturer Castore, said the company is in talks over a possible sale after Chinese sportswear giants ANTA Sports and Li Ning expressed interest. Beahon said in an interview that Castore is also in discussions with several major American footwear brands. The company has reportedly signed sponsorship deals with multiple well-known sports teams and was valued at 950 million pounds in a 2023 funding round. Castore's investors include Jim Ratcliffe, one of the owners of Manchester United, and retired tennis player Andy Murray. ANTA declined to comment, and Li Ning did not immediately respond to the newspaper's request for comment.
