For SpaceX, the past three months have been marked by a series of moves. The company sent four astronauts to the International Space Station at a record pace and expanded its mobile network spectrum resources; it is reportedly in talks for a $40 billion debt financing to purchase Nvidia chips; and CEO Elon Musk has also said he plans to give company shares to every child in the United States next year. Traders believe that after the earnings report is released after the bell on Tuesday, this series of positive developments is expected to push the stock price further upward. According to Cboe LiveVol data, options market makers are pricing in an expected share price swing of about 6% for SpaceX after this earnings release. That swing is less than half the decline after its first earnings report in August. That sharp drop later proved to be the bottom for the stock price; over the following two months, the stock rebounded 60% cumulatively, after which the trend reversed, with a maximum drawdown of 19% over the past two weeks.
