Conflict Intensifies: A Landmark Building in Saudi Arabia Requires All Employees to Work Remotely
Recently, the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen's Houthi armed forces has intensified, causing casualties within Saudi territory. On the 18th, the Kingdom Centre tower, a landmark building in the Saudi capital Riyadh, required all office workers in the building to work remotely until further notice. The Kingdom Centre is located in downtown Riyadh and stands over 300 meters tall. Tenants include financial services giant Merrill Lynch, McKinsey & Company, and the International Monetary Fund. Agence France-Presse, citing an email sent by the building's management office, reported that remote work is a "mandatory" requirement and that all office workers are barred from going to the office effective immediately. The management office did not explain the exact reason for the requirement.
