Space rice bred again! Shenzhou-23 crew completes collection and sowing of a new batch of samples

Last week, the three astronauts of the Shenzhou-23 crewZhu Yangzhu, Zhang Zhiyuan, and Li Jiayingmade new gains in space science experiments and in-orbit research and testing. In terms of space science experiments, the project "Research on the Molecular Mechanisms of Multi-Generational Genetic Stability and Environmental Adaptability Regulation in Space Rice" progressed smoothly. The astronauts completed the collection, sowing, and storage of a new batch of rice experiment samples. The collected samples will be returned to Earth aboard the return capsule for subsequent comprehensive phenotypic and molecular analysis by scientists, to elucidate the mechanisms by which long-term space microgravity affects the genetic stability of rice.
