An explosion occurred at a military base in the capital region of Sudan.

On October 17 local time, the Sudanese Armed Forces issued a statement saying that an explosion occurred that day at a military base in Bahri (North Khartoum), north of the capital Khartoum. The statement said that a fire broke out in a warehouse used to store explosives at the military base and subsequently triggered an explosion. The fire has now been fully brought under control. The statement did not mention casualties caused by the incident.
