Young representatives of Germany's CDU demand Merz resign at party conference

German Chancellor Merz was confronted today at the party conference in Bonn by a representative of the CDU youth organization demanding his resignation. The representative accused Merz's pension policies and government debt measures of failing the younger generation, saying public trust in him has collapsed. He said: "If you truly care so much about the country and the party, then get in the official car and go to the Federal President to request your dismissal." Merz did not respond to the resignation demand.
