Britain's Foreign Office issued a statement on the 16th advising British citizens not to travel to areas within 10 kilometers of the border between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, and "unless necessary, do not travel to other areas of Saudi Arabia." The statement said that since July this year, Yemen's Houthi armed forces have launched missiles and drones at multiple targets within Saudi territory, and Saudi airports, military and defense facilities, ports, energy infrastructure, and major cities are all "facing serious threats." The statement also said that King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh was attacked on the 10th of this month. More attacks on airports in Saudi Arabia are expected, and flights are likely to be disrupted and canceled. The statement advised British citizens leaving Saudi Arabia to consider traveling by land to neighboring countries and then taking flights there. Recently, the Houthi armed forces have frequently used missiles and drones to attack key targets such as international airports and oil facilities in Saudi Arabia. Turki al-Maliki, spokesman for the Saudi-led multinational coalition, said on the 15th that Houthi attacks on King Khalid International Airport since October have caused a total of 17 deaths and 333 injuries.
