At the "Global Wealth Management Forum 2026 Shanghai Suhewan Conference" held on October 17, Liu Yuanchun, President of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, stated that the traditional global economic triangle has collapsed, and a "new triangle" has already formed. "The 'new triangle' refers to the US innovation and finance becoming twins, Europe's savings rate soaring, and the China bloc undergoing revolutionary changes. The investment opportunities and changes in financial demand seen in the 'new triangle' are what we need to pay close attention to," Liu Yuanchun said. He noted that the current elasticity and resilience of the global economy exceed expectations, and low-speed growth in the future economy has become a consensus, but academia still has significant disagreements over how AI will affect global economic growth. Some technology radicals believe that AI will rapidly drive the global economy back to the 4% high-growth range, while the pessimistic camp worries about encountering the Solow paradox, the J-curve effect, or even structural shocks.
