IMF Managing Director: Supports Iraq's project application

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said Iraq has applied for a new program, which the Fund supports. "As far as Iraq is concerned, the authorities have requested a program, and we will be very strongly supporting Iraq," she said on Saturday as the IMF's annual meetings in Bangkok drew to a close. Georgieva did not specify the type of program or the size of the financing the IMF would provide.
