Jensen Huang plays down the AI sector sell-off: This too shall pass.
Nvidia Corp. Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang struck an optimistic tone on the recent stock market selloff in AI, saying the benefits of the technology will soon outweigh investor concerns. Its going to work out, and the reason its going to work out is really simple, Huang said in an interview at an event in Berlin. AI is going to be transformative. Its going to be incredibly beneficial to every industry, every country. Thats certainly going to continue, and were just at the beginning of it. The comments from Huang, who is visiting Europe this week, cap a volatile stretch for chip and AI infrastructure companies. The closely watched Philadelphia Stock Exchange Semiconductor Index has fallen for eight straight sessions, its longest losing streak since 2008. Nvidias stock closed lower in seven of the past eight trading days. Investors are concerned that AI capital spending is unsustainable in an environment of high borrowing costs. Even so, Huang remains bullish on the AI market and its impact on the broader economy. He believes the returns from massive hardware investments will eventually calm market fears. As far as all the news, its just short-term information that ebbs and flows, he said. Everybody knows theres a lot of news, but it doesnt change the fundamentals.
