The New York Fed adjusts its list of primary dealers, NatWest exits.
On October 16, the list of primary dealers published by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York showed that NatWest Markets Securities Inc. has exited the list, with the adjustment effective from that day. Primary dealers are counterparties used by the New York Fed when implementing monetary policy and must continuously participate in open market operations, provide market information and analysis, take part in U.S. Treasury issuance auctions, and provide reasonable market quotes when the New York Fed conducts transactions on behalf of foreign official accounts. After this adjustment, the list also includes institutions such as JPMorgan, Citi, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, and Deutsche Bank.
