Asia's first Boeing 777-200LR passenger-to-freighter production line has been put into operation in Qingdao.
According to Qingdao Daily, on October 15, Mammoth Freighters' first passenger-to-freighter aircraft to land in Asia arrived at Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, marking the commencement of operations of Asia's first Boeing 777-200LR passenger-to-freighter conversion production line. In April this year, the Boeing 777-200LRMF passenger-to-freighter conversion solution developed by Mammoth Freighters received a Supplemental Type Certificate from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, becoming the world's first officially recognized 777-200LR conversion solution. Optimistic about the advantages and potential of Qingdao's aviation industry development, Mammoth Freighters entered into a strategic partnership with Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Company to build Asia's first Boeing 777-200LR widebody passenger-to-freighter conversion production line at Jiaodong Airport. Qingdao has thus become a key link in Mammoth's global production capacity layout, making it the world's third and the Asia-Pacific region's only Boeing 777 conversion core hub.
