Hurricane "Simon" weakens to a Category 1 hurricane; Mexico cancels all coastal warnings.

On October 14 local time, Mexico's National Meteorological Service announced in its latest bulletin that Hurricane "Simon" continues to weaken and is currently a Category 1 hurricane, and is expected to be downgraded to a tropical storm on the 17th. As the hurricane's path shifted westward, the Mexican government has canceled all previously issued hurricane and tropical storm warnings for coastal areas in response to "Simon."
