Recently, the Agricultural Development Bank of China, Bank of China, China Merchants Bank, Bank of Shanghai, Beijing Rural Commercial Bank, and several other banks collectively issued announcements stating that, in accordance with the work arrangements of the People's Bank of China, the operating hours of the High-Value Payment System will be extended. Previously, the Clearing Center of the People's Bank of China issued a notice in July deciding that, starting from October 17, 2026, the operating service hours of the High-Value Payment System would be extended from the current "521+12 hours" to "522.5+13.5 hours," in order to better leverage the role of financial services in supporting the real economy and improve the level of payment and clearing services. Multiple banks stated that, according to the notice arrangements, starting from October 19, 2026, the time when the High-Value Payment System begins accepting business on statutory working days will be moved up from 20:30 on the previous day to 19:00 on the previous day; the end-of-day time will remain unchanged at 17:30 on the same day. During weekends and statutory holidays, the system will continue to implement the relevant arrangements for special working days.
