Academician Ge Junbo Elected President-Elect of the World Heart Federation

The World Congress of Cardiology concluded on the 10th local time in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At the congress, the World Heart Federation announced that Ge Junbo, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the Department of Cardiology at Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, was elected as its president-elect. Ge Junbo stated that he will work with global partners to advance the cause of cardiovascular health, promoting five major directions: promoting global cardiovascular health equity, strengthening the construction of cardiovascular emergency response systems, cultivating a global cardiovascular talent pool, empowering the development of regional cardiovascular undertakings, and deepening global cooperation in the cardiovascular field.
