The reporter learned from the State Information Center of the National Development and Reform Commission on the 11th that in the third quarter, multiple high-frequency data in areas such as consumption, foreign trade, and investment showed steady improvement. China's economy has forged ahead under pressure, maintaining a momentum of steady progress and steady improvement, with growth drivers continuously accumulating. Big data on offline consumption shows that in the third quarter, payment amounts across various consumption categories increased by 2.6% year on year, with the growth rate up 0.7 percentage points from the second quarter. In September, offline payment amounts increased by 3.1% year on year, with the growth rate up 0.5 percentage points from August, rising for three consecutive months. "Since the third quarter, various policies to boost consumption have continued to expand in scope and intensity, residents' willingness to consume has steadily recovered, market consumer demand has been continuously released, and the advantages of the super-large-scale market have become more prominent, providing strong support for expanding domestic demand and stabilizing growth," said Wei Ying, deputy director of the Big Data Development Department of the State Information Center of the National Development and Reform Commission. Data shows that in the third quarter, the deadweight tonnage of cargo ships departing from and arriving at major ports increased by 43.1% and 0.3% year on year respectively, up 43.0 and 0.7 percentage points from the second quarter. Among them, in September, the deadweight tonnage of cargo ships departing from and arriving at major ports increased by 53.2% and 4.5% year on year respectively. In the face of a complex and severe international environment, China's foreign trade has continued to maintain a high level of prosperity, demonstrating strong resilience and vitality and injecting more certainty into the global market.
