Four departments: Automobile manufacturers that learn of a safety incident involving products they produce and sell shall proactively conduct investigation and analysis.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and three other departments jointly issued a notice on further strengthening the management of automotive product innovation design and R&D testing and verification. It proposes improving the mechanism for recording and assessing safety incidents and accidents. When automotive manufacturers learn of safety incidents such as abnormal functions of innovative designs or safety accidents such as collisions involving products they have produced and sold, they should proactively conduct investigation and analysis, identify hidden safety risks, record and analyze the key data required, and ensure the authenticity and completeness of the data; when public security organs conduct traffic accident investigations in accordance with the law, automotive manufacturers should promptly provide data and technical assistance.
