National standards for four health food raw materials, including melatonin and coenzyme Q10, were released for the first time.
The State Administration for Market Regulation has issued four recommended national standards: "Health Food Raw Materials: Broken Cell Wall Ganoderma Lucidum Spore Powder," "Health Food Raw Materials: Melatonin," "Health Food Raw Materials: Coenzyme Q10," and "Health Food Raw Materials: Spirulina." These standards further standardize quality control for related health food raw materials, ensure product quality and safety, and promote the high-quality development of the health food industry. Broken cell wall Ganoderma lucidum spore powder, melatonin, coenzyme Q10, and spirulina were all included in the "Health Food Raw Materials Directory" in November 2020, and health foods using them as raw materials are subject to filing management. As of August 31, 2026, across the country, more than 1,900 health foods using broken cell wall Ganoderma lucidum spore powder as a raw material, more than 1,100 health foods using melatonin as a raw material, more than 2,300 health foods using coenzyme Q10 as a raw material, and more than 180 health foods using spirulina as a raw material have obtained filing certificates.
