Oracle is using a novel power supply strategy to keep several U.S. data centers on schedule: delivering natural gas directly to server farms by truck. According to people familiar with the matter, truck deliveries kept a data center in a Salt Lake City suburb going for more than a year while Oracle waited for a natural gas pipeline to be built and connected to its equipment. Oracle is also using this approach at a campus it is building for OpenAI in Shackelford County, Texas, to advance the project's initial work.
