Porsche will cut the number of model derivatives, and plans to raise prices of high-end models by 20%.
On October 7, sports car manufacturer Porsche disclosed at its Capital Markets Day that it will streamline the number of model derivatives to focus its product portfolio more on attractive high-end segments. The company plans to reduce the number of model derivatives by about 20% to lower the complexity of its product lineup. It is expected that in the medium term, the average sales volume per model derivative will increase by about 30%. According to the disclosure, Porsche plans to raise the average price of its high-end models by 20% and will launch a 911 derivative model. By 2030, the average price of Porsche's high-end models is expected to rise from about 270,000 euros this year to more than 330,000 euros. Porsche stated that by 2030 it plans to launch at least one new product that defines the brand image each year.
