Traders familiar with the deals said Indian state-owned oil company IOC bought about 3 million barrels of Middle Eastern and West African crude, with arrival dates from November 9 to 18. IOC purchased 1 million barrels each of Murban crude, Basra Medium crude, and Nemba crude. The sellers were Trafigura Group, Mercuria, and Chevron. These cargoes were traded on a delivered basis, at premiums of up to about $18 per barrel over the spot Brent benchmark. The refinery issued its CR-41 tender earlier this week, mainly seeking sour crude for November delivery.
