Petroperu Reports Discovery of 8th Illegal Fuel Theft Point on North Peruvian Pipeline

Petroperu stated in a release that an eighth illegal tap was found on the North Peruvian Pipeline in the Sechura area of Piura province. Petroperu has activated its emergency response plan and dispatched specialized personnel to the site. Since June 2026, eight illegal connections have been discovered in the Sechura desert area. Note: Petroperu said the latest attack on the North Peruvian Pipeline has caused a crude oil spill. The company has reported the incident to the competent authorities and plans to file a criminal complaint with local prosecutors.
