Yahya Saree, the military spokesman for Yemen's Houthi armed group, issued a statement on the 5th, saying that Saudi Arabian airspace has become an "operational area" for the Houthis, and warning all international airlines operating relevant routes through Saudi airspace to suspend the related flights. In a statement posted on social media that day, Saree said that Saudi airspace is already "unsafe," and that the Houthis "will not bear any responsibility for the consequences of ignoring this warning." However, the warning does not include the airspace over Mecca and Medina. Saudi Arabia has not yet responded to this warning.
