Hong Kong's September new home sales hit a three-month high: new projects sold out on launch day, with some buyers snapping up four units at once.
As the pace of new home launches picked up again, Hong Kong's property market rebounded significantly in September. Data from the research department of Centaline Property shows that in September, a total of 6,440 building sale and purchase agreements were registered in Hong Kong, up 11.7% from August. Yang Mingyi, senior associate director of the research department of Centaline Property, pointed out that Hong Kong stocks moved steadily in August, new projects in Kowloon were launched at prices close to those in the secondary market, and the enthusiastic market response boosted the overall property market sentiment; at the same time, several major banks continued their fixed-rate mortgage incentive programs, buyers regained their willingness to enter the market, and overall transactions ended a two-month declining trend.
